Osage Nation, OK
Learn how the Osage Nation centralized its grant portfolio and drastically improved transparency through reporting.
Used eCivis to implement tracking and reporting grants software as well as a user-friendly research database to find grants.
Decision-makers can quickly see all grant activity in one place.
All grant documents are electronically filed in a centralized system.
The office can tie financial and programmatic reports more easily to a grant.
The Osage Nation is a federally recognized tribe with 8,357 of its enrolled members living in Oklahoma. The Osage Nation needed a grants management system that could help them plan and provide accurate information to decision-makers to get funding faster to communities addressing housing, child care, senior services, and women, infants, and children.
Unfortunately, Penny Gann-Bradford (compliance manager) and our heroes at Osage Nation were struggling with:
Poorly defined grants processes.
Inefficient tracking in Excel spreadsheets.
Minimal program accountability.
Compliance issues for the 90+ grant programs they managed.
Our hero, Penny, and the tribe's Office of Strategic Planning & Grants Management turned to eCivis to help provide tracking and reporting software as well as a user-friendly research database to help them quickly find and track grants.
With the help of eCivis, Penny and the Tribe were able to:
Centralize all of their grant and contract information.
Reduce hard-copy files.
Improve their processes and monitoring for tracking and reporting.
Implement program accountability.
Ultimately, our hero, Penny, and the Osage Nation were able to organize its grants portfolio and administer grants with greater efficiency and transparency. Now, the Tribe can continue to help communities in need knowing where every grant dollar is being spent.
