PASADENA, CA, November 16, 2010 — The City of Maricopa has a limited number of free licenses to eCivis Grants Network: Research, an online grant research database.
The city has the additional access licenses because the company is requiring governments who purchase the product to offer it to community based organizations or local non-profit agencies, said Mary Witkofski, city grant administrator.
The eCivis network claims to be the gold standard in online grants research tools, as stated on its website.
"Our grants management database provides the most comprehensive, timely, complete, and accurate information available anywhere for federal, foundation, and state grants," the website states.
Witkofski said eCivis allows her to go to one website and limit her search to find grants of interest to the city. Previously, she said she had to scroll through hundreds of individual websites to research available grants.
The city has 19 free eCivis licenses to give away to non-profit agencies that serve Maricopa and are located in Maricopa, she said. An additional license will remain at the Maricopa Public Library for other non-profits to access.
Witkofski said the licenses are going fast.
"The information went up Friday night (on the city website) and by Saturday morning I had 10 requests," she said.
