Just in time for the new year, Congress was able to pass all of the FY 2012 appropriations bills during its last session of 2011. In addition, the House agreed to approve a Senate bill that will give leadership additional time to negotiate provisions regarding the payroll tax credit, unemployment benefits, and the scheduled cuts to the Medicare reimbursement rate.
The House is scheduled to reconvene on January 17, 2012, and the Senate is slated to return on January 23, 2012. President Obama's State of the Union Address is scheduled for January 24, 2012.
