The Ferguson Group (TFG) Washington Report provides a summary of congressional appropriations and actions taken during each previous calendar month. eCivis® reviews this report to highlight present funding opportunities that are available to eCivis customers for quick review in our Grants Network: ResearchSM (GN: R) database.
In the most recent September issue of the Washington Report, Congress enacted the Continuing Resolution, which extends authorizations for certain programs such as:
- Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) (found in eCivis Grants Network as US6239)
- Federal Housing Administration serving homebuyers and communities by maintaining mortgage lending and services
- Interior Department authorization to strengthen oversight of offshore oil and gas drilling operations
As Congress is quickly approaching the “lame duck” session, there are several pieces of legislation that await further action including the Senate's Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010, which will continue funding for programs such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) (US9098). It is expected that Congress will address some, if not all, of the FY 2011 Appropriations bills when they reconvene on November 29.
